Pass the MOT Tester Annual Assessment
The 2026 to 2027 Training Topics for Group B Testers (Cars and Passenger Vehicles): Lamps and Electrical Equipment, the MOT Testing Guide, Braking and the Inspection Manual, with 110 Practice Questions and Three 30-Question Mock Assessments at the 80% Pass Mark
Ebook. Also on other Apple Books and Google Play Books stores.
Group B MOT tester with the 2026 to 2027 annual training and assessment to complete before 31 March 2027? This book is a study companion for the annual training and a preparation for the assessment. It covers the training topics published for group B (cars and passenger vehicles) in ten short chapters: how the training year and the assessment work, how to search the MOT inspection manual in an open-book assessment, headlamps and the other lamps, the MOT testing guide, brake components and brake performance, tyres and suspension, and emissions, smoke and fluid leaks. It points out the traps (refuse or decline, abort or abandon, the 7-day wait before a re-sit, a tyre wear indicator that is lit, 58 or 50 per cent brake efficiency depending on the date, LED conversions, kit cars without emissions data) and then lets you practise until the answers come without hesitation.
The assessment is open book and is marked at 80 per cent. The three mock assessments in this book have 30 questions each, split by topic in the same proportions as the 2026 to 2027 group B assessment, and are marked the same way: 24 correct answers out of 30. Work through them with the inspection manual open, as you will on the day.
What is inside:
- 10 short chapters you can read on a phone
- 3 appendices: numbers and dates to know, a three-hour training plan with a training log model, and a seven-day revision plan with an open-book search method
- 110 original practice questions by topic, every one with the correct answer and a short explanation
- 3 mock assessments of 30 questions, with answers and explanations
Rules are current at the time of writing. Where a point could not be confirmed, the book says so rather than guess.
All questions are original. This is an independent study guide: it is not produced, endorsed or approved by the DVSA or any other authority, and it does not contain real assessment questions. It does not replace the three hours of annual training, the assessment itself or the MOT inspection manual and MOT testing guide, and it does not guarantee a pass. You remain responsible for recording your own training. It covers group B; group A (motorcycles) is mentioned only briefly.
Method of creation: this book was written with the help of artificial intelligence tools, under the author's direction; every rule was written from its source text and reviewed and every practice question was written for this book.
